Workers’ Compensation protects injured workers, and their families against the financial consequences of work-related accidents, diseases, and deaths. 

Workers’ compensation, while regulated at the state level, is the nation’s oldest social insurance system.  More than 9 out of 10 working Americans are eligible to receive workers’ compensation benefits.

This important program faces serious challenges in some states due to over-regulation of benefit delivery systems, reckless disputes and litigation, weak return-to-work incentives and spiraling medical costs. 

AIA is working to secure meaningful system reform in states, while blocking efforts by organized Labor and the trial bar to destabilize functioning state systems or impose artificial restrictions on rates.
