Public concern about the costs of frivolous lawsuits – including higher prices, lost jobs, and corrosion of the broader civil justice system – has heightened in recent years. Insurers, in tandem with the broader business community, are fighting to restore fairness, common sense and justice to the courts.

To that end, AIA remains engaged in blocking efforts at the federal and state levels to reverse hard-fought, valuable civil justice system reforms.  It is critical to prevent enactment of misguided anti-insurer measures which are designed with little attention to the real costs of runaway legal systems. 

As part of this sustained campaign, AIA is committed to emphasize the sanctity of contracts and insurance policies, and highlighting the dangers of “regulation through litigation.”
