Washington, D.C. – August 31, 2017 -- The American Insurance Association (AIA) issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s speech yesterday afternoon in Springfield, MO on the need to pass comprehensive tax reform in 2017:

“AIA is encouraged and pleased that the Trump administration is making tax reform a high priority,” said David Pearce, AIA’s vice president and director of tax policy. “As fundamental tax reform is debated in Congress, AIA continues to stress three key policy principles: policyholder protection, fairness, and simplicity. We look forward to working with the administration and Congress to achieve these principles in the coming weeks and months.”
