WASHINGTON, D.C. -- January 30, 2018 – The American Insurance Association (AIA) issued the following statement after the House Judiciary Committee passed Congressman Faso’s (R-NY) “Infrastructure Expansion Act of 2017,” (H.R. 3808):

“With tax reform complete, it’s time for Congress to turn its attention to cutting spending," said AIA's David Pearce, vice president and director of tax policy. "A great place to start is saving taxpayers money on crucial infrastructure projects. Congressman Faso’s "Infrastructure Expansion Act," which would require a very reasonable reform to liability standards associated with all construction projects that receive federal funding, will do just that. We applaud the committee’s passage of this legislation, and we look forward to its swift advancement in the full House and Senate in the coming weeks.”
