MONTPELIER, VT – MAY 23, 2018 – The American Insurance Association released the following statement in response to Governor Scott’s veto of an environmental liability bill, S. 197. 
“AIA’s members had serious concerns with this legislation, as we believe it would negatively impact the business community and could have a chilling effect on Vermont’s economy. We appreciate Governor Scott’s recognition of this fact and his vetoing of the bill,” said Alison Cooper, AIA’s vice president of state affairs, northeast region.
